Featuring deadlier enemies, darker locations, and more terrifying surprises, each Nightmare Deck introduces new, alternate encounter cards and instructions for using them to reshape a scenario's encounter deck. The result? A nightmarish journey through territory you thought you knew, but with twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat!

In The Long Dark, your heroes must travel through Moria’s many dark and twisting corridors, and its Nightmare Deck heightens the tension of the scenario’s locate tests. As your heroes attempt to navigate the endless caverns and halls of Khazad-dûm, locate tests represent their efforts to maintain their bearings, and if your heroes get Lost, you will be separated from your allies and suffer all manner of ill fortune. When you play The Long Dark in Nightmare Mode, will you get Lost, or can you find your way through the labyrinthine mines of Moria?

Nightmare Decks are available via Print on Demand and may differ subtly in appearance and texture from Core Set cards. Players are thus encouraged to utilize opaque or art sleeves while playing in Nightmare Mode.
